AIDS Drug Assistance Program
The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) is a subsidy program to help pay all or some of the costs of HIV medications and FDA approved HIV related medications.
To be eligible for ADAP you must:
- reside in California;
- be uninsured, on Medicare, on MediCal with a share of cost or have insurance with insufficient prescription drug coverage; and,
- have a Federal adjusted gross income below $50,000.
If you think that you may be eligible for ADAP services and want to enroll or you have questions about ADAP, contact Colleen at 510-869-8494, Kathryn at 510-869-8495, or Joseph at 510-869-8496.
ADAP Recertification
ADAP clients must have their eligibility recertified on a yearly basis. ADAP expires on your birthday each year. Notification by ADAP of impending ADAP expiration has been inconsistent and some clients are finding out that their ADAP has expired only when they go to their pharmacies to pick up their medications. If you do not know when your ADAP expires, you can call ADAP directly at 1-888-311-7632 or contact Kathryn at 510-869-8495, Joseph at 510-869-8496, or Colleen at 510-869-8494 at EBAC.
To recertify your ADAP you will need to make an appointment (schedule renewal appointment one month before your ADAP expires) with Colleen, Kathryn, or Joseph, and bring with you to your appointment:
- picture ID;
- insurance cards; and,
- proof of income (last year's California tax return, award letter or paycheck stubs).
